It is a pilgrimage procession, accompanied by medieval Provençal music, to the Priory at the top of Mont Sainte Victoire. Costumed participants, some singing and some playing tambourins and galoubets, walk up the mountain for a mass at 11 am on the last Sunday in April. The mass is accompanied by traditional songs and is conducted in the Provençal language. Folk dancing, refreshments and, oddly, a life-saving demonstration by the Vauvenargues fire department follow.
